

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Yolanda Garza Gutierrez, who departed this life on the evening of Sunday, September 15, 2024. Yolanda passed peacefully after a long and courageous battle with dementia/Alzheimer's enshrouded in the deep love of all who knew her.
Born into a life of faith, grace, and compassion, Yolanda lived a life devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. She was a beacon of kindness, teaching all who knew her the importance of love, patience, and the power of a smile. Her deep faith in the Lord allowed her to face life's many challenges with unwavering strength and serenity, always knowing that everything is in His hands.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Apolinar Garza; her brothers, Felo Garza, Homero Garza, and Martin Garza; and her sisters, Nilda Garcia and Olga Munoz; and her beloved sons, Hector and Michael Gutierrez, whom she has now joyfully reunited with in heaven.
She is survived by her sister, Leonor Alvarado; and her devoted children, Alfred Gutierrez III, Bobby Gutierrez and his wife Becky, Linda Edge and her husband James, Felix Gutierrez, Sandra Wiley and her husband Steve, Christopher Gutierrez, Christina Walls and her husband Jonathan, Kathy Alvarez, Mary Gutierrez and Patrick Gutierrez and his wife Veronica. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren whom she adored, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom she loved dearly and who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Those who were blessed to know Yolanda remember her as a woman who made everyone feel special and loved. Even in the face of dementia, her gentle eyes and radiant smile communicated the warmth and love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and grace will live on in the many lives she touched, and her lessons of love and compassion will continue to inspire generations.
A visitation for Yolanda Gutierrez will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel at 1515 South College Ave., Bryan TX on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 600 E 26th St., Bryan, TX. A burial will follow on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at El Coyote Cemetery in San Isidro, Texas, on the very ranch where she was born and where she will be laid to rest alongside her family and loved ones.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, we take comfort in knowing that Yolanda is now made whole and is at peace, resting at the right hand of our Father. Her family takes solace in the beautiful image of her reuniting with her beloved Hector, Michael, and all those who went before her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
