Yola “Nana” was born December 2, 1930 in San Antonio to Emil and Trinidad Greco. She moved to the Brazos Valley in her late teenage years where she met, fell in love with and married Sam MorelloSr. They married in 1951 and she bore him three children they would later name Peter, Patty and Sam, Jr. respectively. Yola “Nana” wasn’t just a mother, wife, aunt or friend, but she was admired for her deep faith and love for everyone. Everywhere she traveled, she carried with her the word of God. Because of her love
of God, she met many friends, which in turn became extended family. There wasn’t a person in her life that she has not touched by prayer. She was a leader and promoter of God and his word. Heaven is a little bit more gorgeous now that Yola has arrived.
She was an avid member of many organizations including St. Anthony’s Altar Society and Golden Years.
Mrs. Morello was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Trinidad; her wonderful husband, Sam Morello Sr.; as well as her sister, Nancy Greco Talerico.
She leaves behind not only a legacy of her life, but her oldest son, Peter Morello of Nederland, Texas, and sons, Benny and Patty McRae from Mumford, Texas and Sam and Janet Morello of Bryan. Also survived by her are her five grandchildren, Jamie, Drew, Bethany, Kristen and Peter. Pallbearers will be Perry Nelson, Patrick DeStefano, Sam Lababera, Ray Fraser, Lee Fazzino
and John Greco. The family wishes to give their utmost gratitude and thanks to Brenda Pitre, Diana Perrone, Cynthia Gendron, Ruby Ransom, Rosie Davis as well as the staff of St. Joseph Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Anthony’s Building Fund.
