

Christine Marie Hawkes, 69, passed away in the care of her loving family on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Chris lived a life full of family, service, and love. Chris was born on September 9, 1956, in Driggs Idaho, to Thomas and Margaret (Peggy) Egbert. She was third of nine children, five girls and four boys. Chris was raised in Victor, Idaho. She had an adventurous early childhood growing up on a ranch in the foothills of East Victor. Every day was full of adventure, playing in the creek and racing down hills with her rambunctious siblings. Chris was favored as independent, spunky, and lovable. As more children came into the family, her younger siblings would look to her for comfort. Chris had a pure soul that was full of compassion. She embodied many gifts of the spirit, always offered a hand to hold and a calm reassuring voice.
Chris had a tenacious work ethic. She, with her siblings, worked alongside her parents as they endeavored for success in several business operations. This work ethic carried over into her college days and her ability to help her husband through dental school.
Chris had a stunning beauty which led young men to compete for her attention. In 1976, while attending, then, Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, one of those young men made a significant impression on her heart. Chris met Thomas James Hawkes, the love of her life. Tom would keep her laughing and would shower her with gifts for the rest of her life. If she wanted one thing he would get her twelve. The two were Sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Chris was a great support to Tom as they moved across the country to Richmond Virginia to pursue dental school and start their family. While in Virginia, their first child, Brent, was born. After dental school Tom and Chris moved to Arizona in 1983 and had four more children. Eventually they made their home in Bullhead, City Arizona where Tom grew a successful dental practice with Chris at his side as office manager. Chris was full of creativity and talent. She served faithfully in the LDS church, fulfilling many callings. Her most cherished calling in this life, however, was that of being a mother to five beautiful children, grandmother to twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Chris is survived by her husband, Tom, and her children, Brent Hawkes (Sheena), Bryce Hawkes (Linee), Stephanie Anderson (Craig), Blake Hawkes, and Nikki Beard (Hayden).
Chris’s grandchildren loved and adored their Nana Their names are: Amie, Eva, Ethan, Alice, Lily-Ann, Andie, Miley, Dylan, Rylie, Wren, Quintan, Kellan, and Kolston.
Chris is also survived by her eight siblings and preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Peggy Egbert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1690 River Gardens Drive, Bullhead City, Arizona, 86442.
