Memories too numerous and forever treasured. My love for you will be in my heart forever.

A memory of John that sticks with me first and foremost is.. John loved his wife, his son & daughter, and his 2 grandsons. You could sense his pride and joy as his eyes lit up when they were the subject of conversation. He also loved and supported animals, his many pets, he loved & cared for my pets, and he even loved me almost as much as my pets! He was kind enough to treat me as a family member, and Bonnie’s “chosen” sister. He & Bonnie included me in every holiday celebration, gatherings with family and friends, live music & local plays, movies galore (even when I spilled popcorn all over myself), shopping sprees, sight-seeing, and many fine home-made and restaurant dinners. He earned my respect most by loving and supporting his wife, Bonnie. If you don’t know this about John - you should - he was Irish by blood & American by birth. John was a patriot. I was always so proud to stand next to him at parades, as he always wore his Army hat and jacket covered in metals, pins, and patches. He gave and received so many solutes, shout outs, and notes on his windshield… “All the way!” and  “Welcome Home!” and  “Thank you for your service”!!! He dearly loved his wife, Bonnie. John was stubborn & stood firm in his convictions. He has many super achievements and accomplishments in spite of the effects of war that he carried throughout his life. He was very sensitive, yet strong and courageous. And he dearly loved his wife, Bonnie! My wish for his family: peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. In close, there is one thing I must say, as I admired this most about John…He LOVED his wife, Bonnie! Rest in peace my friend! 


John was the ultimate UCLA and LA Dodger fan.  Upon meeting John at Scottsdale Insurance  Company, he invited me to go to Dodger stadium for a game with some friends. Being the youngest of the crew at that time, I took it all in with awe never have been to LA before ,coming from a small town in western PA.  After the game we ended up walking around UCLA campus. with John explaining every street corner and statue we came upon.

John was such a great friend for many years!  He was the friend that would do anything for his friends - if they asked for help or not :)  Always a smile and a fun sense of humor.  John was very generous with sharing his personality with his wife, Bonnie and kids, Patrick and Tracy.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all on your journey without John!

John was an awesome boss when we met in the '80s insurance biz. He was a standup straight shooting Man of his word. He loved Bonnie, Baseball and Being Real. He was a great friend and will be dearly missed. Rest In Peace Dear Friend.

I first met John as one of my patients at the VA.  I loved his cheerful spirit and his sense of humor.   He would always have an interesting story to tell as well.  Eventually, I had the privilege of meeting his wife Bonnie and even participated in some of her art classes.  It was nice to get to know both of them in a setting outside of work.  John definitely enjoyed showing off his collection of military memorabilia.  I will always remember the three of us having great conversations  and lots of laughs on their porch.  It was also very sweet when he and Bonnie renewed their vows a few short years ago.   It was a privilege to know John, and to help care for him.  He was a kind man who loved his wife dearly, and he will be missed.  Well done, soldier!

I have very fond memories of my friend John, he always had that smile on his face & had something funny to say to me. He always had a big hug & a kiss for me. Bonnie is my dear friend from grade school we’ve known each other 50+ years so when John & Bonnie married 34yrs ago he immediately became my friend too. Thank you for your service my friend may you RIP. Bonnie, thank you for taking such good care of him this past year, he was so Blessed to have such a beautiful compassionate, caring, patient wife. I love you
