Betty Kathleen Fitzjohn Endicott was born December 23, 1924 in Pleasant View, Kansas, to Maggie Elizabeth Betz Fitzjohn and Ralph Hulen Fitzjohn. She lived in both Joplin and Carl Junction, Missouri during her early years, and married Roy Endicott on November 14, 1943. In 1962, the Endicott family - Betty, Roy, and their five children - headed west to Modesto, California, and eventually settled in Sylmar.
Betty always had a smile and a magic touch with a needle - sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her family has many treasures that she created over the years, including Christmas decorations, tablecloths, and blankets (some of which were given to her grandchildren as toddlers and continue to be used 30 years later!). Betty was always there to lend a helping hand to her family with various crafts projects, and we all have many happy memories working on those projects with her; from creating costumes to reupholstering furniture.
Betty was preceded in death by Roy (her husband of 43 years), her brother Harold, and her two sons Larry Gene and Donald Ray. She is survived by her children Pamela Sue (Lee), Gary Dee (Krista), and Ronald Lee (Kathy); her grandchildren Darren, Kevin, Anjanette, Andrea, Jason, Melissa, Sean and Tyler; and her great-grandchildren Jake, Devin, Rayleen, Taylor, Travis, Zoe and Liam, whom affectionately called her GG. Her surviving immediate family - sisters Billie, Doris, Retha, and brother Melvin - as well as her many extended family members will all miss her greatly.
Betty was a loving woman who touched all our lives. Her constant smile and strength of character was a tribute to a life well lived. We are grateful for the happy memories and the time we had with her. She will be missed and remembered with great love.
