Dolores Marie Greenwood, age 90, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Burbank surrounded by family. Dolly, to family and friends, was the youngest of ten children and born in Philadelphia, PA on December 7, 1927 to Mary and James Gallagher. She was married in 1943 to her predeceased high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years, Millard Frances Greenwood.
The family moved to CA in 1969 from NJ and she was blessed to work in the air freight forwarding business which she loved for 20+ years. Dolly was a league bowler, a diehard Dodger fan and the number one fan at each of her son’s sporting events. She played a mean game of Gin-Rummy, knew how to cut a rug, always found a way to yell BINGO, and never missed the opportunity to send a birthday, sympathy or just thinking of you card.
She has resided in Burbank since 1985. A devout Catholic, Dolly loved attending Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Church and would often walk there daily when she was able. She volunteered at the church and became great friends with many of the parishioners.
Dolly was the last of her siblings. She leaves behind her seven children, Frank Jr., Doreen (Bill), Karen (Melvin), Lawrence (Barbara), Gregory (Katy), Christopher, Patrick (Cathy), as well as thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also God-Mother to many. Dolly adored each one of her children and always lit up when they visited. She will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 133 N. Fifth St. Burbank, CA 91501 with a reception to follow in St. Eleanor Hall adjacent to the church.
