Georgia Marie Gleason was born on a cold and rainy day on January 20th 1935 to George and Ina Marie Gleason. She has two sisters, Edna and Tookie and a brother Gene. Georgia was the eldest of 4. Georgia was born and raised on the family farm in North Dakota where she met her husband Donald Reppen. Donald and Georgia were married at the original Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17th, 1955. The newlywed couple eventually moved to California to start their life together.
Georgia worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company in Burbank, CA. Georgia’s hobbies included arts and crafts, artwork of all kinds as well as board games with her friends. Most of those friendships lasted for over 45 years. Georgia enjoyed country music, natural beauty and found that God’s hand was in all of nature. Her favorite flowers were everything in different shades of pink and reds. On August 1st, 1960 Georgia and Donald moved to their home of 26 years in Sun Valley, CA where they raised their 3 children Perry, Twyla and Darren. Georgia was always active in the P.T.A. and helped with fundraising for the school children. She also participated and volunteered in Sun Valley's little league baseball teams. Georgia was known to always root for the underdog in any fight as well as many different causes during the Vietnam Era in the early and mid-70s.
Georgia enjoyed her time with family and friends exploring her home state of California, as long as it did not involve a tent or bugs and as long as she could watch The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Georgia was blessed with a grandson, Daniel Reppen in 1993, to whom she showed love and guidance to another generation of the family. Georgia passed peacefully on June 5th, 2016 and will be sorely missed. Georgia is survived by her children Perry, Twyla and Darren. Her siblings Edna, Tookie and Gene and her sister-in-law Kay C. Svedjan.
