Graciela Ecaruan Dollolasa

Born on December 17, 1952 --- Zambales, Philippines to Teodoro M. Ecaruan and Nimfas Baylon. She was the 2nd child amongst 5 children. At the age of 24, she had a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Masters Degree in Public Health and was already working as a Registered Nurse in Manila. She had given up her single days and joined Nicolas Torrico Dollolasa on June 10, 1976 in a civil marriage ceremony. The church wedding soon followed on January 23, 1977. Soon after, she gave birth to her only baby May Trecias on the 13th of May 1977. She gave up her nursing career and decided to begin a new one as a Mother as soon as her baby was born. She had travelled numerous countries and traversed many continents, and yet she had maintained the hearth and home in Parañaque. Besides travelling, she was also known to have the greenest thumb ever and puttered in the garden whenever she can. She has been a devout Seventh Day Adventist and strict vegetarian all her years. She was an endless source of energy, always a “doer” whether it was just cleaning around the house, or keeping up with May’s extra-curricular activities. Her bout with cancer lasted over 6 years, and she had fought it unwaveringly till her last breathe. She had the will and courage to fight, but the body is but mortal and weak. She had lost the fight at 12:11pm on the 2nd of January 2012 at Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
