Harriet Ann Farris

December 5, 1931 - May 16, 2014

Harriet A. Farris, age 82, of Burbank, California passed away peacefully on the morning of May 16th, 2014.

She was born in 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to John Heffernan and Flora McEachin. She graduated from St. Gregory’s Catholic School. She married the boy next door, Charlie Farris, and in 1957 they moved to Los Angeles, California.

Harriet worked at Pacific Bell for many years before going on to be a homemaker and mother. She returned to the telephone company and retired in the 1994. She was a member of Sweet Adelines for many years, volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and was very active in her parish. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She joins her husband Charlie, brother Frank and sister Helen, and father and mother in Heaven with the Lord.

She is survived by her two daughters -- Shannon and Christine and her husband Jussi; grandchildren -- Nathan, Hannah, Kevan, Otto and Eva. She is also leaving brothers Jim, Joe, Dan, Bill and Tom; along with many friends and family whom she loved and who loved her.

A Viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday May 22nd, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home (Rosary at 7:00 p.m.). Funeral mass will be held Friday May 23rd, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., followed by graveside ceremony at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
