Jim was like the big brother I never had...I'm so sad to hear the news.

I knew Red through my friendship with his Brother Pat. I didn't spend a lot of time with him but when I was around him he always treated me like I was one of the family and I enjoyed his company.. My condolences love and prayers to the Davies Family.

I was a year behind him didn't really know him. at St. Charles (class of 1961) His brother was in our class.
We alway looked up to Jim as being a tough guy, but like others he had a great heart. My best to his family. Jim may you rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear of Jim's (Red's) passing.  My brothers (Danny RIP, Johnny (RIP) and Terry) all went to Saint Charles in the '50's and we lived close to the Davies house (we were on Arcola). We always speculated which of the brothers was the "toughest".  I held out for Ray (because he was in my class) 
but then I heard their Dad was the toughest of them all.  

May he rest in peace and say hello to Danny and Johnny when he sees them

A wonderful family

The most treasured memory I have of Jim goes back to 1984. My brother Dennis had just passed away. I hadn't seen Red in probably 20 years, and who shows up at my mother's house to give his condolence, Red. He was  the only person from my childhood who made that effort. It made me feel so good that he reached out at such a tragic time. It really showed me what a special person he was, and I will never forget that act of heartfelt love and kindness.

In our young days we hung out a lot together and I was subjected to his tough side a lot, but always in good fun. 

My thoughts go out to his family at this very painful time. Rest in peace old friend.

One of my favorite memories of Jim was visiting with him when I was a young kid on my paper route.  The route took me by his house and he was often wet sanding or doing other work on a car (think it was a 30s Ford). Made me see what a nice person he was and how we shared an interest in cars.  Miss you Jim; God Bless You.
