Marina Avendano Afable passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 at the age of 92 in Burbank, CA. Strength, courage, selflessness, dedication and love for family contributed to the longevity of her life.
Marina Cosio Avendano was born on March 12, 1931 in Santa Cruz Laguna, Philippines. Married to Osias Reyes Afable in 1951 and they raised five children. She arrived to the United States in 1984 to reunite with her husband and children following prior family commitments. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in North Hollywood, CA. Aside from church, she loved gardening, cooking, teaching, and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marina is survived by her brother Nestor.
In addition her children, Jeremiah, Jerahmeel, Jeruel, Jeromina, Jerome.
In company of their spouses, Catherine, Irene, Joel.
As well as grandchildren, Jedidiah, Jezreel, Jannah, Jemuel, Jamille, Jillian, Janelle, Giselle, Jeriza, Jonah.
And great grandchildren, Jayden, Jayleen, Josiah, Jorah, John, Jonelle, Jade, Johanna.
She preceded in death by (husband) Osias, (granddaughter) Johoney, (son-in-law) Nilo, (brothers) Romeo, Patrio, Dario, (sisters) Leonora, Priscilla, Perla , Myrna, Norma.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Valley Funeral Home, 2121 West Burbank Blvd, Burbank, CA 91506. Following the service, food and refreshments will be served from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
