She was born November 1, 1914 in Fuscaldo, Italy to Raffaele Seta and Emilia Sabato. A seamstress by trade, she immigrated to America in 1940 with her two sisters Rosina and Tecla on the last ship to leave Italy for America during World War II. The family settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where in 1944 she would marry Francesco Seta, a man who happened to both have her same last name and be from the same hometown in Italy. In 1948, Frank and Santuzza moved their family to Hollywood, California. In 1964 they purchased a home in Burbank, where she lived for the rest of her life. As devout Catholics, they became members of St. Finbar Catholic Church.
Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, and embroidery. It gave her great joy to make baby clothing for her family, especially her grandchildren. She passed on her native language to her children, and taught her granddaughters Italian nursery rhymes and idioms. Her meatballs and homemade pizza were famous in the family, and even when she could no longer cook by herself, she would sit in the kitchen and teach her grandchildren how to cook.
Santuzza was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband. She is survived by her three children: Theresa (Mike) Mullich of Lancaster, California; Anthony Seta of Sunland, California, and Ralph (Yvonne) Seta of Burbank, California; five granddaughters: Lenora (Allan) Woodcock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sandra (Shane) Showers of Hancock Park, California and Alicia, Cristina, and Francesca Seta of Burbank, California; four great grandchildren, Jacob and Rylee Woodcock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mercedez Showers of Deerfield, Kansas, and Emmett Showers of Hancock Park, California; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Visitation and rosary was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Valley Funeral Home in Burbank. A funeral mass at St. Finbar Catholic Church was on Thursday, September 18, 2014 followed by interment at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery.
