With great sadness, we announce the passing of Neil Stuart Austin on October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. At the young age of 54 years old, Neil lost his courageous and relentless battle with occupational cancer.
Neil was predeceased by his father, David, and survived by his loving wife, Christina and step sons, Tyler and Jaden; his mother, Lynn; sister, Kate; daughters, Marra and Olivia; and son, Landen. Neil will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
As an Acting Captain with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, Neil proudly served his community for 21 years. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 14th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church, 1022 Nelson Street, Vancouver.
Following the service, a gathering to celebrate Neil’s life will be held at the Mahony Tavern – Convention Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vancouver Firefighter Charities will be graciously accepted in Neil’s memory. Please see information below
