PATTERSON, Al (William Allan) May 18, 1930 ' February 11, 2011 It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of Al Patterson of Burnaby at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody, after a long and brave 12 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pam, sister Nellie Bond, daughters Donna McRae (Doug), Penny Stone (Jim Bradley), sons Patrick and Scott Patterson (Christina), 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was a loyal husband, wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, a man who's kindness, love, spirit, generosity and sense of humour touched many peoples' lives. He will be remembered for his very loyal and dedicated 42 years at the Overwaitea Food Group, as well as his involvement in the North Burnaby Kinsmen, and Burnaby Minor Lacrosse. He was an avid curler at both the McPherson and the Royal City Curling Clubs. We will always remember all the love and support Dad showed his children in their various activities. For the past 30 years, he enjoyed many weekends with the gang in Birch Bay. The family would like to thank Dr Chi at the Cancer Clinic, and the doctors, nurses and volunteers at Crossroads Hospice. There will be a celebration of life at 2:30pm on February 19th at the Executive Hotel, 4201 Lougheed Hwy, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Crossroads Hospice Society www.crossroadshospice.bc.ca .
