Alexander Yun Fah Ten
6 June, 1937 to 3 January, 2025
Nyuk Moi Ten
29 December, 1938 to 3 January, 2025
Alex and Moi married in 1961 and started a family in Seria, Brunei. They immigrated to Canada in 1972 with their young family to start a new life. They landed in Vancouver, and Alex soon found a job as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Port Mellon. They eventually settled in Gibsons.
Moi was a talented cook. She worked in various restaurants before starting her own restaurant, Seaview Gardens, serving Chinese Western cuisine in Gibsons. Alex loved fishing and owned boats. They went out fishing for salmon and cod as often as possible.
Moi was very business-minded and took over the grocery store business located next to the restaurant. Moi and Alex ran both of the businesses for many years together. For relaxation, they enjoyed flying and driving to Las Vegas for short getaways. They were great partners in life and in business.
Both eventually retired and moved to Vancouver. They caught the travel bug and travelled to China, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and their hometown Seria. Alex often talked about the wonderful Malaysian dishes he missed eating, but he was happy, because Moi was such an amazing cook.
As their health failed, they moved to Villa Cathay Care Home. They had a love for animals, and had rabbits, dogs, cats, and fish as pets for their children. So they were happy, and laughed often, when their daughters brought their dogs to visit them at the Care Home. They leave behind loving daughters Shirley (Kenny), Linda (Francis), Nancy (David) and grandchildren Emily, Ashley, Sydney, Amanda, Brendan, Sarina.
They had a wonderful long life together, and departed together on the same day. May they rest in peace.
