He was born in Villa Santa Lucia, Italy to his beloved parents, Domenico Del Monte and Maria Domenica Giallonardo. In addition to now being reunited with his parents, he is in the loving arms of his soulmate of 54 years, his beautiful wife, Anna Maria Lattanzio. Alfredo is also surrounded by all of his loving brothers and sisters who predeceased him: Franceschina, Lina, Antonina, Guido, Vincenzia, and Antonio.
Alfredo is survived by his beloved children: Fabrizio, Sabrina, Tiziana (Adrianna), and Marco; his precious grandson, Lattanzio; his many nieces and nephews in the Lower Mainland, Prince Rupert, England and Italy; and many friends.
Alfredo’s wonderful life was rooted in the values of family, faith, friends, grace, and love.
He was a talented gardener, an excellent winemaker, and a joyful bocci player challenging his friends either in his backyard or at Confederation Park. Dad enjoyed travelling with his wife and children and visited the Grand Coolee Dam, Jasper/Banff, Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, Palm Spring, and many trips to Italy. Alfredo and his wife also enjoyed many day and weekend trips with their friends, usually crossing the border to take their chances at the casino. Alfredo’s greatest passion and most valued experiences were spending time with friends and family, whether it was social gatherings in his home, playing cards after dinner with friends, picnics in the park, or weekend getaways.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and care providers who took care of dad during the final weeks of his life at Burnaby Hospital, Westminster House in White Rock, Peace Arch Memorial Hospital, and Surrey Memorial Hospital.
