Andy was survived by his children Bob, Andrea (Rich), Rena (Hugh) and Michael (Kilah). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Tyson, Tanis, Sasha, Aure, Allison, Risa, Jane, and Emme and great-grandchildren Sawyer, and Isla.
Dad grew up in Saint Denis, Saskatchewan. He spent his early days on the farm with his three siblings. As his adult life went on, Andy travelled Western Canada where he held a variety of jobs ranging from an Old Dutch truck driver, to a film processor at Kodak, and finally, the building manager of Chilco Towers.
Dad will be missed by all his friends at Milano’s Coffee Shop where he spent a great deal of time sitting and conversing with his friends and solving all the world’s problems. Walking with Dad through the West End of Vancouver, we were in awe of the wide variety of people who would stop to say hello and introduce themselves as a friend of our dad.
His love of family, friends, music, art, photography, and food will be remembered in our hearts always. Dad’s sense of humour and stories stayed with him until his final days and will never be forgotten by his family and friends.
Andy’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the kind and caring staff at Cottage Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held in his West End community that he loved so much, at a later time.
