

Anka Pusic passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford at the healthy age of 96. Anka was born in Kraljevo Selo, Croatia on September 26, 1923. She was predeceased by both of her parents, two sisters and her husband. She came to Kitchener, Ontario in 1970 and in 1979 moved to Vancouver with her son and family. She retired in 1988 after working several different jobs from a farmer in Croatia to a baker in Ontario and British Columbia.
She was a dear mother to three children: Vlado (Nevenka) and Katica (Josip) both in New Zealand and Miko (Gertrude) in British Columbia. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Zdenko, Dennis, Zlatko, Beti and Emil in New Zealand and Matthew and Brian in BC. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren: Georgio, Dominic, Anka, Natalia, Daniela, Nicholas, Stephan and Zara in New Zealand and Ainsley and Mikayla in BC. She is also survived by family and friends in Croatia, Germany, New Zealand, British Columbia and Ontario.
Anka was a faithful member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Church, where she sang in the choir for many years.
Family would like to send expressions of thanks to the staff and nurses at West 2 Menno Hospital in Abbotsford, where she was taken good care of for the past two years.
