Dear Korompis family, how are you?  Hope you are fine.  I remember meeting your mom and I love you all   We had so many nice times together cooking and studying the Bible together.  I remember Helen"s wedding.  I almost went to Indonesia with Metta.  I am now baptized by Holy Spirit and much more happy than when I had the wrong Bible as a Jehovah witness.  Much has happened.  I went to Jerusalem and walked where Jesus walked.  Call me at  home number .  I think if you see New Jerusalem on YouTube at Enspirian. you will love it. Mom to me is my hero and the pillar of our family. From young till old, she has always shared her blessings with many people, including her children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors, in-laws, and even people at the marketplace, especially the olden marketplaces in Indonesia.
Always hardworking and not afraid to face hardships, optimistic and encouraging - her qualities helped bring the success of my dad and a few of her in-laws. Mom always thinking of her children, saving and never wasting anything - she was the one who sent all her six children to study in other countries. Even in difficult times, as a young widow she remained strong willed supporting, guiding and uniting the children. Mama, i treasure your unconditional love and sacrifices for us children. I'm especially grateful as you were the one who first brought us to know Jesus Christ as our Saviour. I treasure and admire your strong faith and forgiving heart.

MY MAMA, MY HERO.  I believe you are by now at peace and even singing in joy with the Lord Jesus Christ. I miss you very much and will always love you for all you are and for all you have done.

Kou Sida was a very nice aunt. She always treated me like one of her children. When I first arrived in Jakarta from Manado to attend University, I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity living at her home for a few months & enjoyed her delicious cooking. When I no longer lived at her home, she always asked me to drop by at anytime for a meal or her home made spring rolls/lumpia. When Meyta & Peter were coming to Canada for schooling, she convinced my father to allow me to come to Canada for my education. At the same time, my late uncle Kong Hoan helped me to get my Indonesian passport done. I won't be in Canada today without their help. I am so grateful to both of them. I will miss her very much and she will always live in my heart. ..John Anter

When I was a child, I remember Tua Kim lived in Tiang Bendera with a very nice big pond of gold fishes. As a child, I liked to jump around whenever I visit but afraid of her in case I ruined something in the house. As a man, I remember Tua Kim welcomed me with big arms when I had to stay in Vancouver for two weeks on May 1998.  She assured me I made all the right decisions. Every year, I called Tua Kim to wish her merry Christmas and in turn received a lot of advices about life. I will miss Tua Kim for her caring thoughts and love for us. May God be merciful and grant her peace.

Although its difficult today to see beyond the sorrow may your heart and soul find peace and comfort to accept things you cant change and wisdom to treasure what you have now. Death leave heartache nd no one can heal but love and sweet memories no one can steal but they will remain into each heart and soul.

Taima was a GREAT great-grandmom. I could not ask for a better one .She cared for me when I was young .She gave me junk food and tried to get us to Pizza Hut all the time.  May she rest in peace.Peter Lee

TaiMa  was special to me and most importantly she was my great grandma. I miss walking to TaiMa`s house when my mom was late in picking us up and  saying "A Hoo  and P P are here" and she would open the door and give us snacks and most of the time I would get  my favourite food, soup noodle.  She gave us crackers and chips ( junk  food)...she spoiled me.  I miss TaiMa walking down the street  and waving when she would  pass by our house. I miss her asking me and my brother Peter  if we wanted to go to Pizza Hut. I long for her lovable voice. I will remember  all the  moments  we have  spent together and treasure them. I will always love and miss her.  I hope she is having a great time in HEAVEN with TaiKung and Jesus.

Ma is a very special person and grandmother.   She didn't beat around the bush on issues and told me what she thought.  By this approach, she taught me a lot and influenced how I view life.  We had a great relationship and spent lots of time together especially in the last 10 years.  I will treasure my memories of those times we spent driving to appointments, eating, cooking, shopping for groceries, walking... simple moments but moments where she would talk about what's on her mind and life.  I miss her.  I especially miss the energy she brings to things - whether she liked it or not, you knew!  I miss seeing her going for her daily walks pass my house waving as she passed.  I miss her calling me to ask me to buy things for her. I miss her always being there to look after "A Hoo" and "P P".  I miss her singing/dancing to loud Christian worship songs.  I miss her wanting to eat at Pizza Hut 'for the kids'.  I miss my Ma.  I will always love you Ma.

It's always tough for me to find the words on the days like this. Days like this one remind me to a person of what's truly important in life. Days like this remind me to always give loved ones hugs before we leave them. Days like this remind us to live each day as if it's your last. November 10, 2010, is "one of those days.
 
My sister in law, Tuaso, was truly a special woman to me. Her passion and attitude through life has driven me to be the person I am today. The way she speaks to people has always been driven by her strong presence, but inside her, she was a very loving and caring woman. She's the kind of a mother who would do anything for her family; her kindness will always be remembered forever. We're truly going to miss you our sister, our grandma, our mother, Tuaso. May God rest your soul in Heaven. Your memory will always be alive in our hearts.

Being little around Grandma meant many things were bound to happen: love in the form of culinary delights; education in the form of good company; and exercise in the form of rigorous walks and enforced naps.  A good day would start with 'China Can', the rallying cry for an afternoon in the store, followed by an olympiad of energetic events.  Can you pound dough for my prizewinning lumpia?  Who's going to stake the pork for some delicious satay?  Somebody going to put the oxtail on the boil?  Then watching her do it for us, displaying great strength and care in her deceptively small frame.  At night, we would nominally be watching Chinese soap operas with the aunts and uncles, but I would keep one eye on Grandma: scouring the kitchen clean, one tile at a time.  A nightly routine inherited by my own mother, whose own house rules dictate that her kitchen be clean too every night before she goes to bed.

Watching the shadows scale walls silently, waiting 
For the hours to slip by, engraving the patterns
And etchings of sun through the slats on open and 
Closed eyelids, imbibing the pungent bouquet of
Oxtail from out there and 'tai zi shen' from in here.

I will miss you, Grandma.  In a world where things change every day, you were the Rock of Gibraltar, my pillar of Hercules.  Seeing you, talking to you on the phone - you had the consistency of ritual.  You showed your love by bringing back everything I remembered and cherished, again and again, every time I talked to you or visited you.  You were always on message, echoing your most-favoured "words to live by"; being positive and encouraging when not everything was; and an oasis of calm in the often raging windstorm of chaos that was our large, extended family.

Dear Family, I am sad to hear of the passing of your dear mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a wonderful friend to everyone in the Chinese community in Vancouver. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to speak with her one last time when I was in Vancouver in September. I, as well as many others, will remember her. it is with great sadness that I write this entry to you.  You have poured so much love into each and every member of our family:  your children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren.  In times of great hardship you had strength to persevere and bring brightness to all around you.  You taught Mom who I hold so dear to my heart how to love, how to laugh, and how to share with others the joys of life.  She has in turn passed this on to me, and for that I am forever thankful.  I am happy knowing that you have finally reached Heaven, and I hope that you look down upon your family with pride knowing that you have brought us to where we are in our lives.  My memories of you will live on forever, and I will be sure to pass on your love to my children.  I love you so much Grandma.

Kopo, even though there was a generation gap, cultural differences and even a language barrier dividing us what I always felt from you was your warmth, friendship, love and integrity. You were the link in my family history to a time in Manado that was filled with family and kinship. Everyone in the Tanudjaya family is going to miss you so much and we are so thankful for having you touch our lives so deeply. ~Imelda and Family

We will miss you dearly mama.  You have been the center of the family.  Though you were not sophisticated and refined as many of your children and grand children are, you made up with your caring, devotion to the family, and your unprejudice efforts that kept the family together for so many years.  Personally, living mostly far away from you, I could only witness all these when we came for family unions, and I cherish those memories.  But what I could not experience up close from you, I live through it in the wonderful daughter that you raised up, who is now my wife.  In your examples, she practices what she learned from you, became the glue in my own little family, and helped us to grow as a Christian family.  Thank you for your love, and for sending such a beautifull wife to me.
You'll be missed.

I love you mom. You have taught me how to be a good mother & a good wife  not only through your words but also through your actions.Your sacrifices & unselfishness to your family has significantly touched me and has stayed with me. You never ever have the word of  "Dissapointment" into your mind.  You are always a very positive thinker. A strong woman never crying in front of us, so we can move on with life and still be positive. You are everything to me, mom.

 in our  whole family  i think we are all now  griefing  the  lost of  the one  person who has touch so many of  our lives in our family  ,more  than anybody. who  has taken care of 3 generations of kids. our childhood are all filled with the memories of   grandma who  would bring pots full of soup chicken and food to feed us . She tried the best to take care of us  with the best  she knew  even thou the knowledge she had was very limited. Her life was a very simple life  full of sacrifices  not knowing  luxury or any enjoyment only hoping people around her would be  well.In  many times i have misunderstood  her  but  i realize she  meant well for you with what  best she knew. i realize i am blessed  to be  given  the chance  to be able to spend  time  with her  for  quite some time during my  the time when i was still in vancouver   now  the trip to richmond through yaohan empire and public market will remind me of grandma picking papaya and vegetables or the kitchen at ko hua s house  will remind me of grandma  cooking there it will never be the same  there now  and i think as she is gone now i think evryone here must  feel like a part of them is  missing like i do  . I hope we can carry on her legacy and wishes .even though  i am not here i would like to say  grandma thank you and may you  go in peace
