Antonio ‘Tony’ Di Giacomo, 67, of North Delta, British Columbia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Surrey Memorial Hospital. Tony was born in Cansano, Italy to Domenico and Annina Di Giacomo. He met his wife while living in Vancouver and together moved to North Delta for the remainder of his time. Tony was a dedicated, hardworking man of respect, loyalty and compassion who enjoyed sharing his gift of the art of welding. He started his career at Westeel, moving on to Patton & Cooke, and finally made his way to Brenco Industries. Here he became a Journeyman Fabricator and has been said to have left a legacy of humor and wisdom. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his at-home workshop handcrafting welding art pieces, watching movies and ‘Y&R’ with ‘Bird’ perched on his shoulder. He also enjoyed sketching and growing fruit trees and plants in the yard. Tony is survived by his wife Eileen of 45 years, daughters Angela (Jason), Melanie (Chris), son Jeffrey (Kailyn), daughters Renée and Jolene. He was the proud Grandfather of 10 beautiful grand-children. Tony, a foster parent of 30 years opened his home and provided unconditional love and support selflessly to many children over the years. He is survived by his Mother Annina, brother Romano, sisters Elena (Giuseppe), Clara (Louie) and Maria. Tony was also loved by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and colleagues. Laughter is something Tony wished to inspire naturally to everyone he met. He will forever be remembered.
