

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Beryl Jean Collins (Guttridge) on August 24, 2020. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Robert Collins, her father Eldon Stanley and mother Edith Mae. Survived by her sister Marion Stone, sons Bruce and Brian, grand-children Sean (Tamara) and Bradley, great-grandchild Ava and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Beryl was born in Forfar Ontario on August 17th, 1928. She graduated as a registered nurse from Kingston General Hospital in 1951. In 1954 Beryl moved to Vancouver and went on to work at Shaughnessy Veteran Hospital where she met her husband Bob. She later worked at Vancouver General Hospital as a float nurse and eventually went on to retire from nursing at Holy Family Hospital extended care in 1986.
Beryl enjoyed bowling and belonged to the Kensington Community Centre Carpet Bowling League. She played Bingo Tuesday nights at St. Andrew's and belonged to the Neighbourhood House for many years. Beryl enjoyed Alaska Cruises and travelling with her family on car rides to Ontario to visit relatives.
Beryl will be missed by everybody that knew her. Due to social distancing, funeral services will be limited to family and close friends held on Friday, September 4th, 2020 at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.
