It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bruno Piccoli. Bruno was born on November 17, 1939 in Valdagno, Vicenza, Italy. Bruno passed away with his family at his side on June 4, 2014. Bruno was predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Palma, brother Francesco and sister Lucia. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Maria, daughter Carla and son-in-law Joe Finamore as well as his family in Italy, brother Livio, sisters Gina, Francesca and Elena, and many nephews and nieces. He is also survived by many close relatives and dear friends with whom he enjoyed spending time, and sharing his gift for telling jokes and demonstrating his talents for curing meats, baking, wine-making, and of course, gardening. He was an expert that truly loved to share the fruits of his labour. Over the years, Bruno also greatly enjoyed his camping trips throughout BC and hunting, fishing and mushroom picking. He was a past Director of the Associazione Nazionale Alpini of Vancouver, Past-President of the Vicentini Cultural Society, and Lifetime member of the Italian Cultural Centre Society where he volunteered and enjoyed playing cards in the Osteria with his friends on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The family would like to deeply thank Dr. Frank Canderle, and staff and nurses at Vancouver and Burnaby General Hospitals for their care of Bruno in his struggle with cancer over the past 10 years. Prayers will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 7pm and Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 11th at 10am at St Helen's Church 3860 Triumph St., Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com.
