Calogera "Lilla" Siracusa

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Calogera Siracusa, known as “Lilla” to family and friends. Lilla was born in Siculiana, Sicilia, Italy in 1933 to parents Leonardo and Maria Modica Amore. She is predeceased by her brothers Gerlando and Domenico.

In 1956 she came to Canada when she married the love of her life Vincenzo Siracusa (deceased). She is lovingly remembered by her children Lino (Gabriella), and Cathy (Joe), grandchildren Erica (Nik), Daniel (Alexandra), Marina and Laura, and great-granddaughter Hazel. Lilla was devoted to her family and shared with them unconditional love.

In 2022 Lilla suffered a horrific pedestrian accident when she was struck and severely injured. Through her great sense of faith, spirit and strength she recovered sufficiently to continue to share her positive wisdom and love with her family for two more years. Lilla was an inspiration and loved by family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish 2025 Napier Street in Vancouver, BC. Followed by Entombment in the Abbey mausoleum at Ocean View Burial Park 4000 Imperial Street in Burnaby, BC.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caring and professional staff at the Kopernik Lodge, where Lilla resided during these last couple of years.
