Mr. Charles William Erickson

Chuck lost his battle with cancer with grace, courage, determination and dignity, with his wife by his side. He loved people and life. He was a master at making everybody happy in a very unique, gentle and funny way. His approach made everyone feel that they were the center of the universe. He was very kind, honest and a good friend to all. Chuck left too soon, before he finished writing his poetry, building his bird houses and telling more of his amazing stories. Chuck will be sorely missed by his wife and soul mate Leokadia, his parents Martha and Keith Erickson, his special uncle Eddie (Grace) Steitzer, his cousins Ken, Debbie and Tammy, his sister Wendy (Les) Delcourt, their children Tim and Desirae, his sister Sandra (David) Gunderson and daughter Rebecca and the family dog Oreo, his brother Dr Brian Shelby, his sister-in law Krystyna (Milan) Markovic, his nephew Vlad (Kristina) Markovic and his niece Tanja (Rob) Thomasson and many relatives and friends. He left an empty desk at UBC where he worked for 35 years. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Chuck's memory to BC Cancer Foundation at 13750 96th Ave, Surrey, BC, V3V 1Z2, or charity of your choice. Chuck's Memorial Service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 320 E 15th Ave, Vancouver on Saturday, July 30th, 2011 at 1:30pm. As requested by Chuck, please wear casual clothes.
