Jesus Christ said “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” in Matthew 5:5 ESV.
Uncle Chris was such a quiet intellect that he was able pass the Senior International Tax Auditor exam, AU4, at the Canada Revenue Agency with little formal training. 
Uncle Chris was so generous that he gave us his car without wanting anything in return. 
Uncle Chris was courageous and loyal; he protected and defended my brother and I when we were bullied as kids.
Uncle Chris was like a brother, he gave us advice, support, and companionship. He would go out for lunch at KK’s with trusted friends every week to share good times, stories, and laughter. Once Uncle Chris thought palm bay was juice and chugged it.  The reaction on his face was priceless. 
He seemed quiet to those who didn’t know him well, but to me he was a generous trustworthy uncle.

I remember Chris (CL to our Coffee Group at work) that cool, calm & collected smile even when... 

A certain TL sent us an email in all caps when we first started as new hires in Audit 19yrs ago!  Tsk tsk, no one should've gone home eh CL?  

Or when you shared & congratulated me in many of my life's Big Events (2 baby showers & a wedding)!  I thought there would be a reunion of sorts of our old Coffee Group once I'm back from my 7year hiatus off work but alas, shock & sorrow to learn of your passing instead.  

How about carpooling to our friend Shez' wedding 4 years ago.

Or just in one of your walks as neighbours with trusty ol pal, Ray.  

Yes, I (we) will continue to remember you, long before we say our good byes.  Rest in peace CL, we pray now, for your family as well.  


It was my honour to have had the opportunity to work with Chris. His work and technical knowledge were exemplary and he was always willing to share his knowledge and help others. 

I will miss his quiet confident presence; his insightful and enthusiastic discussion of food and restaurant choices for our team lunches; his funny stories of restaurants he didn’t want to visit; his daily trip to Starbucks each morning to pick up a coffee and the delicious smell of his lunch heating up in the microwave every day.

Chris will be dearly missed!

I knew Chris since 2011 when we all started in the ATP section together.   

For a couple of years, I had the privilege of sitting in an office area close to Chris  and two other wonderful colleagues.   We shared our knowledge, findings, best practises and even frustration together.   Even after our group was disbanded, we still had coffee from time to time, and I would call it our "quad reunion".  Chris always have some travel and food adventures to share; moreover, he always brought us back delicious snacks from the countries that he visited.  

I had taken a couple of offsite courses (held outside Sinclair center) with Chris.  I always looked forward to lunch time, as he would suggest good restaurants to try, and I would happily oblige.  After all, he knows where the good food are.

Last year, Chris and I took a retirement course together-- something we look forward to, little did we know that retirement is not a guaranteed thing...

I will certainly miss Chris, my prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow. 




I got to know Chris since I joined the large business audit in 2016. Originally, I thought he was a very quiet person who did not like to talk. But once I had a chance to know him more, I noticed that Chris loved talk, travel and nice food. He is also full of sense of humor. He is a very kind and gentle person. It was truly a pleasure to have gotten to know Chris. He will be missed dearly. 

My heart is saddened by your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Wishing you strength and peace during this hard time.


It was an honour to have known and worked with Chris in the past 8-9 years. On the surface, he was calm and quiet (a man of a few words) but when I got to know him, I found him could be quite humorous. 
On the surface, he carried a cool and straight composure …… a cool smile was how he said "hello"...…  this cool guy had a rich and warm spirit in his heart.   He will be deeply missed by us at work.  
May the Lord bless his families and loved ones with strength and peace in this time of sorrow. 
 
   

My brother Chris was the youngest and was always called fondly “Baby” by my parents & us siblings. We spoilt him as a kid and he always got the best food and that was a big thing in a family of 6 kids.
When he reached school age, we stopped calling him “Baby” and Gerald created a name for him “Bibo” which he just accepted even though it still meant a bigger baby.
Chris had a cheeky side to him. He didn’t enjoy eating rice, stir-fry vegetables & meat every day for dinner. This made us envy the Fijian kids when we saw them eating tinned fish & bread. On some afternoons, we would sneakily eat long loaf bread & WB Pilchards in tomato sauce in the bulk store of the shop, without my father’s knowledge, with On Wah Cordial Raspberry Fizzy drink. One time, a cockroach had crept into our bottle of fizzy drink that we were sneakily drinking, and we drank it all until we saw a cockroach at the bottom of the bottle. It was too late to spit out anything! We had a good laugh after that.
Chris’s favourite ice cream was banana flavour at school. Since our parents told us to take money for our bus fare, we all took extra money to buy ice cream. Chris definitely made sure he had enough for his ice cream. In the shop, his favourite ice cream was passion fruit . He used to help himself to the 20 litre bucket without ever being caught by my dad. It was still his favourite flavour until his passing. We will fondly remember him whenever we have passionfruit ice cream.
Shirly & I will never forget the enjoyable time we spent with Chris when he drove us from Vancouver to San Francesco in September 2013 stopping at the country towns along the way enjoying the beautiful scenery together. This was the type of person Chris was. 
To my baby brother, I will miss you. I will miss your caring attitude, loving personality and witty humour you had that made everyone smile when they were with you. You saw our family grow to what it is now and we will always love you and miss you dearly.
