Darren was born and raised in Revelstoke, Chase and Monte Creek, and settled in the lower mainland in 1980.
Darren was a life-long learner, attending local colleges and universities off and on for the next 25 years. He earned a degree in Economics at UBC in 1989 and was a licensed gasfitter. He completed pre-apprenticeship programs in several trades including plumbing, steam fitting, automotive mechanics, and HVAC repair and installation.
He loved Jesus and serving others as a devoted member of Coastal Church in Vancouver. He worked as a volunteer there until the pandemic began in 2020.
A beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Darren is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Merlene. He is survived by his brother, Kerry (Terry), nephews Michael (Stephanie), Derek and Jesse, along with extended family in BC and beyond.
He lived a solitary life in his later years but remained deeply committed to his family and friends. We know that he is with Jesus now, no longer suffering but rejoicing with those who have completed their race before him.
