David passed on peacefully after a strong fight, surrounded by his family on May 17th, 2011 in his 96th year. David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Violet. He is the cherished father of Brian, Ted (Irene), and Richard. Proud grandfather of Robert and Brandon. He will be greatly missed by his step son Stephen (Peggy) Yih, their children Jackie and Kenneth, and many siblings and their families in China, Taiwan and the United States.
He was born in Beijing China. David was proud to carry the Hsiung Family name, as he was the eldest son of General Hsiung Bin former Governor of Shaanxi province and Mayor of Beijing. David was a major in the Chinese Air Force, serving in WW II, earning a Bronze Star for his abilities and dedicated work. He was an Aeronautical Engineer who worked for Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. (HAECO) for over 20 years. He was a member of F.F. Fraternity, and St. John’s University Alumni (Johanneans).
David was a righteous man of great integrity and high principles. His legacy will be fondly remembered by all that knew him.
Ocean View Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will take place on Tuesday May 24th from 6—8pm. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel of the Ocean View Funeral Home (4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby BC) on Wednesday May 25th at 11am. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and would be appreciated by the family.
