It is with immense sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Deanna Kim Wong (Tom), age 85, at her home in Burnaby, BC, on August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Vancouver, BC, to Victoria Tom, Deanna graduated from Britannia Secondary School and went on to enjoy a distinguished career as an Executive Assistant at Canadian Airlines, where she worked for over 30 years.
In 1963, Deanna married the love of her life, Allan Henry Wong. Together, they raised two children and built a life centered around family, love, and community. Deanna was known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity—qualities that touched everyone who knew her. Her exceptional cooking, loyalty to friends, elegant sense of style, and deep love for dogs and Hawaii were just a few of the many things that made her so special.
Deanna is survived by her devoted husband Allan; her son Greg (Kim), grandchildren Ryan and Emma; her daughter Shari (Terry), granddaughter Gracie; her sisters Verna, Eddi, and Myrna; her brother Laurence; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Gary.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby, BC. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Deanna’s life.
For those wishing to send flowers, please ensure they are delivered on or before 12:00 PM on Friday, September 5th to Forest Lawn Funeral Home so they may be displayed during the service.
Deanna’s selflessness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed beyond measure.
