Domenico Antonio Fontana

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Domenico (Mimmo) Antonio Fontana on September 9th, 2024 at the age of 82 surrounded by immense love. Domenico was born in 1942 in Taurianova, Reggio Calabria, Italy and made Vancouver, Canada his home in 1958.

Domenico will be deeply missed by his loving wife Carmela and his daughters Concettina and Filomena. He is survived by his siblings Lina Dente, Carmine (Vicki), Stella, Concetta and Francesco (Maria). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Maria and Giuseppina Sorace, Caterina Misiti and his many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Francesco and Concetta Fontana, his parents-in-law Bruno and Filomena Misiti and his brothers-in-law Carmine and Vincenzo Sorace, Giuseppe and Michele Misiti, Antonio La Rosa and Carmine Dente.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Bell Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street Burnaby BC on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.

Domenico’s life will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 555 Slocan Street Vancouver, BC on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 at 12pm. Entombment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park - South Mausoleum, Burnaby BC.
