Don was born the only child of Ada and John Duncan Graham in Northern Ontario and was a good student and an avid skier. After graduating he tried various jobs before settling with a banking institution. Through this job he was able to travel and work abroad in such locations as Dominican Republic, Ciudad Trujillo (now Santa Domingo), Lima Peru and Trinidad Tobago utilizing his Spanish skills. Soon his love of Canada emerged and he decided a change of scenery was due so he packed his bags and headed west back to Canada and his new adventures began on the west coast in Vancouver, BC.
Don's new job in Vancouver was as an accountant for a large brewery where he met his future wife Anne who was on a "working holiday" travelling the world. After dating for a year, he finally got the nerve to ask the big question and the cute couple was married in a small ceremony in March 1959.
They had many friends and were often out enjoying activities such as horseback riding, skiing, water skiing and camping. Then it was time to start a family and over six years they were blessed with sons Bruce and David and daughter Susan.
Don retired as a Bursar from St. George's School and continued his hobbies being an avid coin and stamp collector over his lifetime. Don had a quiet, dry sense of humour and was always there to support his family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Anne, son Dave, daughter Susan and granddaughter Emily. His love and support will be dearly missed by all. Condolences may be left at www.ForestLawn-Burnaby.com
A Celebration of Don's Life will be held in the Fraser Room at the River Rock Casino Resort on Saturday, April 20th, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
