The family wishes to thank all who took great care of Don at the Royal Arch Masonic Home. A special thank you to loyal friends April, Muryl and Barry who “so made his day” with beverage and chocolate bar visits on weekends over these last two years.
Don was born, raised, schooled and roamed, living his entire life in Marpole. He loved it, never left Vancouver. He made friends and kept them for life.
Don attended UBC and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Science. He worked and traveled with the Dept. of Fisheries, started his own business Busy Bee Insulation working throughout Greater Vancouver. He saw an opportunity in the 80’s and became a successful realtor where he worked up until his retirement.
Don had varied interests and various collections of stamps, coins, comic books and precious metals. He was social. A visit with Don always included a beer, peanuts and some fine wine.
Known as “Norton” from his favourite Jackie Gleason TV show “The Honeymooners”, Don was a lifetime member of the “Beta Club”. Good friends and good times shared by all.
An outdoor gathering at Forest Lawn in Burnaby will be held on Monday July 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm. in the Garden of Reflection. Everyone to meet at the Forest Lawn Cemetery office at 12:50 and will proceed up at 1:00.
A Celebration of Don will be held Tuesday July 15, 2025 at his home starting at 1:00. A toast to a memorable life, with many humorous stores to be shared.
The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation to the Parkinson Society British Columbia.
