

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father and Grandfather. Douglas Wing Tak Wong, of Vancouver, BC, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the age of 67. Born to parents Kwong Chow Wong and Ding Kum Wong on June 19, 1949 in Hong Kong, he grew up as the second eldest of five and as the eldest son.
Douglas is survived by his daughter, Vivian Young; her husband Wayland and their children Nicholas, Kristen and Zachary; daughter Karen Chen, her husband James and their children Brendan, Evan and Aaron; son Kevin Wong; his father Kwong Chow Wong; his sisters and brother-in-laws Linda & Alan Hai, Jane & Steven Young and Margaret & Tim Lai; brother and sister-in-law Fred & Mei Wong; 11 nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ding Kum Wong.
Douglas was very much loved by his children and adored by his grandchildren. He was a devoted Son and popular Uncle. He enjoyed cooking and meeting friends for coffee and fun chats. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A viewing for Douglas will be available to the family at Ocean View Funeral Home on April 6th between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend the service which will take place on April 7th at 10:30am at 4000 Imperial Street in the Main Chapel at Ocean View Funeral Home. The family is grateful for all condolences, but graciously declines flowers as Douglas is to be cremated as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations for the family for the funeral costs may be offered.
Following the service, please join the family for a luncheon reception at Pink Pearl Restaurant, 1132 E. Hastings Street, Vancouver.
