It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Hong Fay “Eddy” Leong on Wednesday June 7 in Richmond BC. The youngest of five children, Eddy was born in Guangdong, China. He moved to Canada at age 15 and he eventually met Liza in Victoria. They raised a family and started multiple grocery stores around the Lower Mainland, some of which were named after him (Eds Market). He was always seen with a smile behind the counter. After retirement, he enjoyed many years of travel around the world (only missed one continent!) He enjoyed gardening, chocolate and a nice cold beer. Eddy avidly followed current events, locally and globally, and would read or watch the news in his spare time. He is survived by his wife Liza, his four daughters Cindy (Patrick), Anna (Art), Elaine (Richard) and Penny (Ken); grandchildren Eric(Sherry), Andrew, and Maiwenn, and grand dog Boomer. He will be dearly missed.
