Elizabeth Ribeiro Teixeira

Passing: November 29, 2025

Sadly on November 29, 2025 at age 62, Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital.

She is predeceased by her grandparents Imperatriz and Jose, Edite and Jose, her father Antonio as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her cherished mother Maria, her dear brother and wife, William and Tania, and her beloved niece Annalisa, as well as many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins and godchildren.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Winnipeg surrounded by her large and loving family and close friends. During her formative years, religion and learning played a large role in her life. She excelled academically and graduated High School early at 17, while at the same time battling Hodgkins cancer. She survived cancer and went on to attend University of Manitoba where she completed her BSc and her Bachelor of Law shortly thereafter. She began her practice of Law in Winnipeg until her love of the outdoors brought her to British Columbia, where she continued practicing Law. Eventually her dedication to her faith and her desire to help others led her to pursue religious studies and complete a degree in Education. She went on to teach in the Catholic School system. Eventually, she was pulled away from her chosen field due to illness. She faced and overcame multiple medical challenges with quiet dignity and continued strength of faith, before eventually succumbing to heart disease and cancer.

Elizabeth was a shining light in the lives of all those she touched. Her compassionate, caring nature and unwavering faith were constants during her life. She was known for always putting her family and friends first and was generous to a fault. Her loss leaves a huge hole in our hearts and will be deeply felt. We ask that you remember her by the profound impact she had on the lives of those who knew her. Although she is no longer with us, she will lovingly live on in our thoughts, hearts and memories.

Prayers and vigils will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Coquitlam on December 10 at 7:30PM. The funeral mass will be on December 11 at 11:00AM followed by a short reception in the Parish Hall and her burial will be held at Gardens of Gethsemani cemetery at 2:00PM.
