Left to mourn is son Robert (Norma), grandchildren Scott ( Nedra), Debbie ( Cory), great-grandchildren Carly, Sydney, Brendan and Davis (her maiden name) and other relatives in B.C. and USA. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Arvilla, her husband John, daughter Jacquelyn, siblings Jack Davis and Thelma Johnson and late life partner Brian Parsons. Elsie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Davis family moved to Kamloops and then to Prince Rupert where Elsie met her future husband John and they were married October 11, 1941. Both children were born there and the family moved to Burnaby in the childrens early years and lived there for close to 20 years. Elsie also resided in Vancouver, White Rock and Ladner before settling in Nanaimo to be close to her son in her final 4 years. Elsie had a life long love of sports and a fierce competetive spirit. Her passion in her early years was tennis and later in life with husband John became an avid golfer. In her later years she took up competitive lawn bowling and became a certified coach. She and late life partner Brian found happiness in going on cruises and travelling many places in the world. Elsie taught her family about perservence through hardship in life. She went through the pain of having to put daughterJacquelyn into Woodlands institution as an infant and faithfully visited for over 40 years. In the early years of her marriage she was a caregiver for both of John's parents and later on his sister Mary. Later in life she was a loving faithful caregiver to husband John and much later still to Brian. Mother/Grandmother closely guarded her age and always said it's just a number when asked and it was always a source of fun and jokes around the family. She lived a full and eventful life and was always there for her family in countless ways. We will miss you greatly Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.. It was her wish that no funeral service be held. Family will lay her ashes to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetary, Burnaby beside her beloved husband John on October 12, 2012 on what would have been their 71st wedding anniversary. At the same time time the ashes of beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt Jacquelyn wil lbe laid to rest with them. We will see them again one day!!!!!!!!
