Emiko Amy Shikaze passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on December 5, 2013 at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. Predeceased by her husband Steve Yoshio, son Larry, parents Kaemon and Yeda Shikaze, brothers Tadao, Gilbert, Masami, George and Norio, and sister Shirley. She is survived by her sister Sachiko in Japan, and brother Ben. She is survived by sons, Ben, George (Lorraine), Albert (Leslie), and Tom (Shelley), and seven grandchildren, Michelle, Davin, Amber, Stephen, Daniel, Zen and Sage, and many nephews and nieces, She will be missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the care people at Nikkei Home in Burnaby for their kindness and excellent care for the past two and a half years. There will be a private family funeral service at Ocean View Funeral Home at 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby on December 20 at 1:00 pm. There will also be a Memorial Service at the Fraser Valley Buddhist Temple at 28941 Haverman Road, Bradner, on January 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Koden and flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of Koden donations can be made to the Fraser Valley Buddhist Temple or Nikkei Home.
