Mr. Eugene Soh

Eugene passed away peacefully, at age 83, on April 25, 2019. He is survived by Alice, (mother of his children), daughter Abby, sons Vernon and Virgil (Noriko), granddaughter Julia, dog companion Cosmo, granddog Koko, siblings Calvin (Lee Ling), Jacquollyne(Ross) and Joan (Michael).

Eugene was born in Singapore, grew up in Malaysia, lived in California, then Brunei where he married and became a father. He and his family migrated to Canada in 1973, and settled in Vancouver where he continued his profession as a linotypesetter, eventually setting up his own graphic arts business.

Eugene loved his family, friends, fishing, travel, jazz, books and food. He had the enviable ability to connect with all kinds of people and absolutely lived life to the fullest. Dad is remembered and greatly missed by his family and many friends across Canada and abroad. Profound thanks to the team of doctors, nurses and staff of the Cardiac/Heart Clinic and the Kidney Care Clinic at St.Paul’s Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to St.Paul’s Foundation, Heart/Cardiac Clinic. A celebration of Eugene’s life will be held on May 4, 2019, 1pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
