We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of a cherished mother, Mrs. Euginnie Yiu Chup Yee. She was 88 years old. She lived her life for her children, grandchildren, and extended family and touched those who came to know her.
Euginnie was surrounded by her children when she passed peacefully in the early hours of April 28, 2025.
Euginnie was born in Hoi Ping, Guangdong, China, on October 20th, 1936. She was introduced to her husband, Jack Suey Ping Yee, by her aunt. She and Jack had a long-distance love story, sharing letters with one another, until she came to Vancouver to be his bride.
She was a dedicated wife and mother. She had five children, and when they were all in school, she went to work as a seamstress at various manufacturers, which included Mustang Sportswear, Jantzen Sportswear, Koret of California, and Westport Manufacturing, where she later retired.
Euginnie was predeceased by her husband Jack Suey Ping Yee and survived by her children Eva (Ming), Ellen (Harry), Gavin (Jacquie), Elena, and Glenn (Sandy), her grandchildren Amanda (Mike), Sara (Damien), Courtney (Kenta), Nicole (Christopher), Emilie (Daryl), Dylan (Abby), Samantha (Samuel), Colin, Cameron (Nishani), Skylar, and Parker, and her great-grandchildren Oliver, Elias, Sofia, Oskar, Mads, Iverson, and Joni.
Her strong family values and delicious home-cooked meals were her love language, and her family is forever grateful for every precious memory made.
We know she is now reunited with her husband, and together, they will continue to watch over their family in heaven.
