Evelyn Venora Perreira Wallace

Evelyn Venora Perreira Wallace was born May 17, 1931, in Georgetown, Guyana to Lillian Emily Thyme and Francis Perreira Vincent. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 19, 2021, at the age of 89 in Victoria, BC. She is survived by her 5 children, Raymond (Joy), Daniel (Patsy), Edgar (Yushy), Brian, Joy (Christer). In her 90 years, she was a grandmother to 13 grandchildren (Duane, Deanne, Nigel, Bert, Sacha, Trisha, Natasha, Rudi, Celine, Zeinel, Lilianna, Tatiana and Andreas) and 9 great grandchildren (Daniel, Ryan, Nathan, Micah, Isabel, Izaac, Aasha, Zavier and Kai).

Evelyn was the second eldest of 9 children and is survived by 5 of her siblings whom she loved deeply. Evelyn married her husband Edgar Wallace on January 22, 1950. He passed away in 1995. Both were teachers in Guyana before moving to Canada in 1981, where she had a second career as a nurse aid. Evelyn was a blessing to, and was blessed by, her loving extended family. She helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren travelling across North America and the Caribbean supporting her family until settling in Victoria, BC.

Evelyn was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never shied away from providing wise advice and counsel and was a strong principled woman. Her unwavering commitment and love for her family was only matched by her devotion and faith to her saviour Jesus Christ, with whom she now resides in glory, joining her beloved husband, Edgar. She was predeceased by her grandson, Duane and daughter-in-law, Lolita. Her family holds the hope and faith to see her again surrounded in the love and peace of Jesus.

A funeral service will be held at Oceanview Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby at 12:30 p.m on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
