He leaves behind his adoring family including his wife, Stella, whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage with this year; his two children, Angelo and Luisella; and his four grandchildren, Madelaine, Tanin, Luca, and Francesca. Francesco was born on November 1, 1933 in Calabria, Italy, in the tiny, charming town of Torre di Ruggiero, in the province of Catanzaro. He spent a happy childhood and youth there until emigrating with his family, to Argentina, as a young man. A few years later, he and his family emigrated further north to Montreal, Canada. Here, he completed his university studies in Commerce at Sir George Williams University.
Francesco then went on to earn his real estate license and worked briefly in this field until deciding to pursue the designation of Certified General Accountant. He then went on to start a career with the Canada Revenue Agency, which would span over 30 years.
Francesco and his family, moved from Montreal to Vancouver, BC in 1972, and shortly thereafter, to Richmond, BC where he would live until his last days.
Anyone who has ever spent even a few minutes with Francesco, would attest to his kindness, his honesty, his good heart and his unwavering integrity. He would put you at ease instantly with his innate calmness and would make you laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor.
Our loss is immeasurable and we will be forever grateful for having had him in our lives. No one will ever compare. We love you always nonno, dad, Franco.
