Gary passed away suddenly on October 8th at the age of 77. He was born in Cartwright, Manitoba, the youngest of 11 children. He moved to Vancouver in 1964 and then to New Westminster in 1994. He was very fortunate to be able to enjoy over 16 years of retirement after retiring from the Department of Highways in 1997. Gary loved his family most of all, but he also loved his home and especially his yard. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Central Park Horseshoe Club where he was a long time member. Gary is survived by his wife Anis Wray (Folkett) of 52 years, his son Troy Wray (Heather), his daughter Leanne Piendl (Ed) and three grandchildren Kane, Hailee and Taylor. He also leaves behind his brother Raymond Wray (Ivy), his sister Mary McLeod, his sisters-in-law Florence and Merle Wray as well and many in-laws and nieces and nephews. At Gary’s request there will be a private graveside service. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 1805 Edinburgh Street, New Westminster on October 19th from 3PM onwards for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
