Georgia Shaw Kennedy

It is with great sorrow that we announce that Georgia Kennedy passed away surrounded by her family on March 4, 2014. She was an inspiration to all as she courageously battled cancer. Born on January 5, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA to the the late Georgia Lorraine Smith (nee Shaw) of Kamloops, BC and David Wilson Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; Georgia is survived by her brother, Graham Smith (Beverly) and sister, Cindy Wehner (Terry). Georgia and her loving husband, Edward Kennedy, started their marriage and family over 46 years ago in Burnaby, BC and retired to Langley, BC two years ago. In addition to Edward, Georgia is survived by her children; Wendy Kinkopf (Chuck), Leanne Raad (Samer), Colleen Kennedy, Brian Kennedy (Lisa), and Lindsay Zebrowski (Pawel). One of Georgia's greatest joys was spending time with her 11 grandchildren. Georgia also loved her time in Palm Springs, playing Golf, Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Book Club. A celebration of Georgia's life will be held at South Burnaby United Church 7551 Gray Ave. Burnaby, BC at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 10th with a reception next door to the Church following the service. Special thanks to the first class treatment of our mother by Dr. Appleby and all staff at Abbotsford Regional Cancer Centre.
