Gerda Romanin (Guttmann) was born in Siegersdorf, Austria on November 21, 1925. She died peacefully in her Burnaby home on July 3, 2022. Gerda is pre-deceased by her husband of 45 years, Nino. She is survived by her four children, Christian (Ming), Benjamin, Jennifer (Patrick), and Patricia (Clarke) and three grandchildren, David, Isabel and Charlotte. Gerda lived a full life, growing up during the depression and World War II in Austria. After she married Nino, they immigrated to Canada via a North Atlantic crossing with their son and another child on the way. Following arrival, their two daughters were born as well. Omi was known as a strong, bright, and independent woman who spoke her mind. Her faith was quiet and steady. She was an amazing cook and homemaker who loved the simple things in life- going for walks, gardening, swimming. She was devoted to her family and will be missed. Rest In Peace,mom. We love you.
Funeral is on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 11:00am. Holy Cross Parish, Burnaby, BC. Private interment to follow.
