In memoria di Pino

Il 21 febbraio il mondo ha salutato il nostro amatissimo Pino, la cui vita è stata un silenzioso inno all’amore, alla fede e alla generosità. 

Come scrive John Donne, “non chiedere per chi suona la campana; essa suona per te”: e in effetti, con la sua scomparsa, tutti noi sentiamo il vuoto della sua assenza.

Pino ha vissuto tra due mondi: la terra natale, che ha nutrito le sue radici e custodito la sua famiglia, e il Canada, che ha accolto come seconda patria. 

Con dedizione instancabile, umiltà e integrità, ha costruito una vita ricca di significato, lasciando un’eredità di cura ed esempio che ha toccato ogni persona che ha avuto la fortuna di conoscerlo.

Ha condiviso la vita con Maria, la sua amatissima moglie; ha cresciuto i suoi splendidi figli, Bruno e Cettina, e le loro famiglie; è rimasto un fratello amorevole e una fonte costante di sostegno e gentilezza per i suoi fratelli e sorelle. In loro continuano a vivere i suoi valori più profondi: dolcezza, fermezza, generosità e forza silenziosa.

Chi ha conosciuto Pino ricorda il suo sorriso radioso, la calma incrollabile e le piccole attenzioni che illuminavano la vita di chi lo circondava. Il dolore per la sua perdita si mescola alla gratitudine per la sua vita, per la bontà che ha seminato e per l’amore che ha saputo donare.

La fede ci conforta nel sapere che Pino è stato accolto nella pace eterna, avvolto dalla presenza divina che tanto amava, e in particolare da Maria Santissima della Visitazione, alla quale era profondamente devoto. 

Sebbene la campana terrestre abbia suonato per l’ultima volta, altre campane in cielo hanno celebrato la vita di un uomo i cui passi hanno reso il mondo più umano, più ricco e più bello.

Addio, Pino, caro amico. Il tuo ricordo vivrà nei nostri cuori e la testimonianza della tua vita – segnata da amore, umiltà e devozione – continuerà a ispirarci, guidarci e parlaci attraverso il tempo.

In Memory of Pino

On February 21, the world bid farewell to our beloved Pino, whose life was a quiet hymn to love, faith, and generosity. 

As John Donne wrote, “never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee”—and indeed, with his passing, we all feel the emptiness of his absence.

Pino lived between two worlds: his native land, which nurtured his roots and held his family, and Canada, which he embraced as a second home. 

With tireless dedication, humility, and integrity, he built a life rich in meaning, leaving a legacy of care and example that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He shared his life with Maria, his beloved wife; he raised his wonderful children, Bruno and Cettina, and their families; he remained a loving brother and a constant source of support and kindness for his siblings. In them live his deepest values: gentleness, steadfastness, generosity, and quiet strength.

Those who knew Pino remember his radiant smile, his unwavering calm, and the subtle ways he brightened the lives of those around him. 

While sorrow fills our hearts, it is tempered by gratitude for his life, the goodness he sowed, and the love he shared.

Faith comforts us in knowing that Pino has been welcomed into eternal peace, embraced by the divine presence he cherished, particularly Mary Most Holy of the Visitation, to whom he was deeply devoted. 

Though the earthly bell has tolled, other bells in heaven surely rang to celebrate the life of a man whose footsteps made the world more humane, richer, and more beautiful.

Farewell, Pino, dear friend. 

Your memory will live on in our hearts, and the witness of your life—marked by love, humility, and devotion—will continue to inspire, guide, and speak to us across time.

Dear Maria, Bruno, Cettina and families,
With profound love and appreciation, we celebrate the life of this extraordinary man, a cherished friend, a guiding father figure to me, and a beacon of inspiration to all. Your legacy will live on and in my heart, JoJo, I’ll forever respond with “No, I love you more”.
