It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Giuseppe (Joe/Pino), after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pizzo Italy, he moved his wife and six children from Vibo Valentia Italy to Vancouver in 1975. Joe worked for Olivetti as a computer technician until 1995. After retirement he spent many hours perfecting his garden and tinkering in his garage. He was the master of repairing anything and was the ultimate "Mr. Fixit." He could make anyone laugh with his silly jokes and the charm of his unique style of humour. He is survived by his wife Maria. His children Cathy (Phil) Fasciglione, Giovanna (Tony) Malara, Sarina (Maurizio) Martinello, Tony (Danita) Russo, and Tiziana Russo. Predeceased Nazzareno (Darci) Russo, whom he is together with again. Grandchildren who worshipped him and whom he adored, Christina, Daniela, Alissa, Lorena, Andria, Dario, Juliana, Anthony, Nazzareno and Paolo. Great grandchild Max. Brother Rosario (Maria) Russo & family. Sister Pina Montesanti & family. Brother in law Carmelo (Barbara) Morena and family. Sister in law Rosaria Russo & family. Nephew Tony and Gianluca Russo. And many more cousins, nieces, nephews and friends near and far. A service will be held on Saturday April 9th, 2016 at 10:00am, Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan St, Vancouver. Entombment to follow, Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of your choice honouring Joe. "When someone we love passes away from this world, it can ease the pain to realize we have not lost a friend, we have gained an Angel." Written by anonymous, posted by Joe Russo.
