It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gloria Big Yee Wong on June 25th, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born September 10th, 1934 in Toishan, China. Through the sponsorship of her parents she came to Canada in June 1955 and resided in Edmonton, AB, where the family operated a Chinese restaurant and grocery store. She eventually met her husband, Donald Sam Wong whom she married in November 1958 and raised a family with in Vancouver, BC.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Donald, and is survived by her 3 sons, Dennis (Monica), Albert (Cecilia), David (Bonnie) and 3 daughters, Judy (George), Linda, and Teresa (Larry). As well, she will be lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren: Ryan, Tiffany, Daniel, Michael, Chenille, Mattias, Brandon, Shauna, and Laura. She will be deeply missed and always remembered for her love, care and devotion in the upbringing of her children and grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Monday July 12th, 2021 at 10 am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home followed by Interment in the Garden of Tribute area of Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 11:30 am. Visitation will be held on July 11th, 2021 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gloria’s memory can be given to a charity of your choice.
