In loving memory of Mr. Gordon Gay Hing Lowe

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Gordon Lowe on Oct 2, 2023, at the age of 87. Gordon was a devoted family man with unwavering faith, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be especially missed by his wife Mo Ching, his children Raymond (Lucia) and Debbie (Norbert), and his grandchildren Isabella, Lauren, Jessica and Breanna.

Gordon was born in Loong Doe Kai Cock in China on Feb 25, 1936 and after enduring many hardships during those early years, he moved to Hong Kong in 1950 and finally immigrated to Canada in 1952 to be with his father. He returned to Hong Kong in 1967 to marry Mo Ching and started a family in Vancouver shortly thereafter with the birth of Raymond and Debbie.

Gordon spent most of working life in the forestry business and worked hard to provide for his family, finally retiring in 1995. Aside from his devotion to family, he was a faithful member of the Chinese Presbyterian Church (CPC) serving in many capacities, participating in various groups, singing in the choir and being an Elder for many years.

Gordon was thrilled to see the completion of the new CPC building and was able to attend Sunday services during the past few months. Our only regret is that he missed the dedication service of the new building.

Although there is sadness in his passing, we are grateful that he did not suffer and there is comfort that he is now with the Lord. We thank everyone for their loving support and prayers.

A Celebration of Gordon’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct 28th at 1:00pm in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC.

Viewing will be on Friday, Oct 27th from 4:30-6:30pm.
