July 15, 1919 – March 9, 2011
With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved Grandma who passed away peacefully in the arms of Natasha, Caren and Allan at the Eagle Ridge Hospital. Grandma always had big presence and never one to give up without a fight. Predeceased 23 years by her loving husband, Robert B. (Bob) Sampson, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Judy Champagne (Rene) of Quebec, and Caren Morin (Allan Watchorn); granddaughters Crystal Champagne of Quebec, and Natasha Morin; great-granddaughters Sascha and Morgan Azouz of Quebec, and her dear friend of many years Joan Smith, as well as nephews Gerry Sampson (Donna) and Mike Sampson, and her many friends. Her beloved cat Trudeau is still waiting by the door for Grandma to come home. Grandma was the happiest when spending time with granddaughter Natasha, and will be forever loved, forever remembered and forever missed. We would like to thank the caring staff at Hawthorne ADP, Port Coquitlam, for the wonderful care given to Grandma. She had something special to do on those days. To the fabulous Stroke Recovery, Coquitlam Branch coordinator, Margaret, and volunteers, Margaret, Annie, Betty, Audrey and members at Dogwood Pavilion, you made Fridays so special for Grandma. She loved Fridays as did Ben. We would like to thank the wonderful Handidart drivers who safely took Grandma to and from Hawthorne ADP and Stroke Recovery giving Grandma her independence which she so loved. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Friday, March 18th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Entombment to follow in the Garden Mausoleum of Forest Lawn Memorial Park, followed by a reception in the Tea Lounge of the Funeral Home. The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Stroke Recovery Association of BC, Coquitlam Branch or The Alzheimer Society of BC.
