Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mildred and his four children, Joan (Dean), Bruce (Jeanne), Kimberley and Michael and grandchildren, Nadine, Nolan, Natasha and Brad.
He is predeceased by his parents Nellie and John and his only brother, Gordon (Fairlye). Hugh was born in Winnipeg and this is where he began his over 40 year career with the Royal Bank.
He was transferred to Vancouver in 1957 and held various management positions throughout the province including establishing Royal Bank Chargex for Western Canada. While raising four children and working at the bank he graduated from Queen's University, top of his class. He enjoyed playing golf, was a member of a long established poker and bridge club, and an avid member of many different service clubs. He especially enjoyed family cruise vacations.
Despite his many successes he always made his family the cornerstone of his life and he was a devoted husband and father. Hugh was a kind man, with unfailing integrity and will be missed greatly by all who loved and respected him.
