MOCHIZUKI, Ichiya ‘Tommy’ passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016, at St. James Cottage Hospice. Tommy was born October 5, 1943, in Sandon, B.C. and spent most of his lifetime in his home in Vancouver, B.C. Tommy will be dearly missed by his three sisters Mutsuko, Ritsuko (Bill) and Ayako (George); sister-in-law Tazuko; dear friend Theresa Douglas; ten nephews, four nieces and their extended families. He was predeceased by his brother Toshi and sister Shizuko. Tommy loved spending time out at sea - on boats and fishing, playing cards, and winning at the casino with family. A former kendo athlete who competed in national and international competitions, Tommy was a kind and gentle soul with a warm smile who was kind to everyone and loved animals. Tommy will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. Viewing will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, B.C. on Thursday November 17th 5pm – 7pm.
